The University of Nantes and the Faculty and Foreign Languages and Cultures are delighted to welcome you to the 51st Conference of the French Association for American Studies.
We will gather to discuss the stimulating theme of “Disciplines / Indiscipline,” a topic imbued with many historical and contemporary associations.
Nantes, a metropolis of the Northwestern region of France, a city of art and history, is only two hours from Paris yet has had its eyes set beyond the Atlantic for many generations.
A team of student volunteers will be ready to answer all your queries and help you with transportation between the “Tertre” campus, where the Conference will be held, and the nearby city center, where the banquet and reception at the City Hall will take place.
We will follow the “éco-événement” charter, with a view to reducing the impact of the conference on the environment (see http://www.eco-evenement.org, in French).
Those of you who wish to extend their stay and discover more will be able to enjoy Nantes’s exceptional cultural offer or, in less than an hour, go to the seaside on our own West Coast.
